Howdy from Haunchos Headquarters! We know all 3 of our readers are overjoyed by our return after a long pause in blogging. The truth be told, we have been blogging for a wonderful website for entrepreneurs. It has been an honor and a privilege, but trying to make sense and be business like seems to sap our energy from our usual mindless chatter.
Are any of you familiar with Mutual of Omaha? If you are from our generation, we KNOW you’re thinking about the Sunday night lineup; Wild Kingdom followed by Wonderful World of Disney! If you are from a younger generation (you know-where Disney=Destiny Hope excuse me, Miley Cyrus) then you may have heard of Mutual of Omaha’s AHA moments. A few weeks back, someone contacted us about taping with them re: our “AHA Moment”.
After watching countless AHA tapings on the website, it seemed perfectly logical to us that the vanity driven inventors of booty tightening pants belonged with folks whose AHA moments included mentoring, trying to solve illiteracy, ending childhood hunger…you get the picture. So off we toodled to the Macon Mall looking for our spot. Imagine our delight when we came across an airstream camper, AND a tent, AND director’s chairs, AND our old sidekick Robert from 41 NBC! A whole slew of good looking, skinny, young AHA employees took us in and were very kind to 2 somewhat spastic, young at heart women screaming at them to put vaseline over the lens and blaming our flaky skin and swollen eyes on the holiday weekend.
We taped our segment and after squawking at the precious young people about how they better be kind when editing, we were told that a link to our video would be sent to us in 3 weeks. We know! Stop it! No worries! As soon as we have the link, we’ll post it for all of you. So you can watch it; and try to decide which you will do first-gouge your eyes out, or puncture your eardrums.
