Hold Your Haunches goes to ABC’s Shark Tank, Part 3:

We’ve taped, we’ve aired and now we will air some more.

We hung in our trailer/on the lot harassing people and were at times assured ‘sure, you’re going to make it to set ,no worries’ and just as often told ‘it doesn’t look good, sorry’
Ambiguity is not our forte (and you knew that) but we had no choice but to ride the wave.

Hold Your Haunches goes to ABC’s Shark Tank, Part 2:

People often ask us what we did to prepare for Shark Tank. First of all, we watched every.single.episode. As avid TV watchers, this was not a problem. Knowing Hold Your Haunches’ answer to every.single.question; this was more challenging. We scoured articles about the Sharks. If a Shark had a book out, we read it. We peppered our conversations with ‘Well you know Daymond invests as much in the person as the product’ or ‘That Barbara’s mom; what a pistol!’

It was weird.

Second of all, we held pretend Shark Tank panel (read:abuse) Q & A’s where people we thought were our friends and husbands peppered us with every question they could possibly imagine and beat up on us until we had the answers crisp and correct. They are sadists, and we may still dream of ways to put snakes in their beds, but this method was tremendously helpful.

Hold Your Haunches goes to ABC’s Shark Tank, Part 1:

In April 2013 we received an email from someone identifying themselves as a Shark Tank producer saying he had been on our website and social media and would really like to talk to us about being on the show. We replied that we were certain we could make time to talk to someone that was trying to get Hold Your Haunches on TV in front of 7 million people and 5 genius gazillionaires, that in fact we could make time to talk to someone that was a television producer for the heck of it because we are starstruck that way.

He asked us to film an audition video and gave us the parameters within which to work. We asked if he had seen the HLN clip and he said yes but he wanted to see more energy than that. In that particular segment Jenny had declared on Live television “I’m not gonna pull my pants down on TV!”

So more energy than that? Careful Mr. Shark Tank Producer Man. You don’t know how loose these 2 cannons are…yet.

We headed on over to our friend Doug’s studio and asked him to film for us. He readily agreed and then put on his figurative flak jacket. He has been working with us for a while. There is not much we can do to surprise him. He patiently filmed our video featuring shots like this:

Winter Storm Janus

We sure wish Janus would bring us some snow! We wear our HYH regardless of the weather but for you folks in Janus’s path, order up! Back when we used to go skiing, we wore our haunches in place of long underwear under our ski britches. That way when it was time to hit the bar (bout every hour or so) we were already Apres’ Ski ready! Looking tight and sassy with our haunches held and Uggs on. We couldn’t unload those skis and boots fast enough. I want a hot toddy just thinking bout the good old days. So anyhoo, CHEERS to you all and stay warm and safe! Until next time, J&E
